KCI currently owns and manages two cave preserves in Illinois.
Twin Culvert Cave Nature Preserve, in Pike County, Illinois, was dedicated as an Illinois Nature Preserve by the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission in July 1999.
Pautler Nature Preserve, in Monreo County, Illinois, was dedicated as an Illinois Nature Preserve by the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission in September of 2005. The preserve contains the entrance to Pautler Cave, where most of the current resource management activities of KCI are currently being implemented.
